This 18-hour interactive course is reserved only for parents, leaders and scouts from Troop 6410 and others with special permission. Class size is strictly limited to 20 students. For class, bring a comfortable chair, clothing suitable for the conditions, a notebook, and a headlamp. For camping, bring your standard, weather appropriate gear. Day and night scenarios are a critical learning tool for this material. All classes are conducted rain or shine, so come prepared!
Curriculum Covers: Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Patient Assessment Skills, Recognizing and Treating Soft Tissue Injuries, Muscle and Bone Injuries, Head and Spinal Injuries, Thermal Injuries, Recognizing and Treating Shock, Medical Emergencies in the Wild, Bites, Stings and Envenomations, Environmental Exposure, Emergency Carries and Improvised Litters.
